Today students were introduced to a new unit "6.NS.1" 6.NS.1 Interpret and compute quotients of fractions, and solve word problems involving division of fractions by fractions. "I can compute and solve word problems involving division of fractions". By the end of this week, all students should be able to:
Science:
Students continued to work on their plant adaptations and defense presentation. They were to:
1. Explore the following sites and record important notes about plant adaptations and defense mechanisms in your digital portfolio.
2. Choose one flower and research the ways it adapts and defends itself. Create a presentation of your choice to display this information which you will share with your classmates.
Students also worked with their group to brainstorm a list of 30 products that are made from plants. They recorded the information and created a table separating the products into different categories.
Science Homework for tonight will be to complete your plant presentation. Be ready to share with class!

"I can compute and solve word problems involving division of fractions". By the end of this week, all students should be able to:
- Compute quotients of fractions divided by fractions (including mixed numbers).
- Interpret quotients of fractions.
- Figure out how to solve division problems with fractions in a real-world situation.
- Solve word problems involving division of fractions by fractions (example: by using visual fraction models and equations to represent the problem).
- Did you complete your pre-test? If so, did you put the score into your notebook and data tracker in your Sandbox?
- Did you complete your "I Can" statement and place it into your interactive and digital notebook?
- IF NOT...it is your homework tonight!
